Our Vision

Urban Thrift is committed to using its resources and opportunities to provide an example to the community of a circular economy - an economy aimed at eliminating waste and the continual use of resources. Through reuse, sharing, repair, refurbishment, remanufacturing and recycling, we seek to create a closed-loop system, to minimize the use of resources and the creation of waste and pollution.

We will also use our platform as a way to cultivate leaders from within the community through leadership training and employment readiness programming.

    Urban Thrift strives to create community pride by giving second hand items new life, providing affordable goods for the local community and empowering our neighbors through job training and volunteer opportunities.

    Our "people first policy" prioritizes the belief that everyone has purpose and possibility and can find their place at Urban Thrift.

  • Urban Mission Works

    Urban Thrift is not just a thrift store, but an Opportunity Center of the Urban Mission.

    As an Opportunity Center, Urban Thrift serves as a work site for the Urban Mission Works employment readiness and mentoring program.

    Through Urban Mission Works, individuals with barriers to employment participate in our retail training program.

    Graduates of Urban Mission Works find permanent employment in local retail centers putting into practice their skills in customer service, point of sale systems, marketing and retail management.
